It's part of a series that sits outside the new federal building in sacramento--I think it has something to do with the settling of california. It is quite interesting.

Who are you kidding? That is so obviously a political picture. It's obviously a commentary on gay marriage, with a woman and man in a friendly embrace like that. I also notice that the man has a tool and the woman looks pregnant--a statement on the place of men and women in society today.

Oh, that sculpture MUST be by the same artist who did the scattered-across-a-whole-plaza set of sculptures outside the Minneapolis Courthouse. Have you ever seen it? The little funny-shaped metal people, and the snake and bird and...anyway, it's amusing, and I'm sure it's the same artist. :-)
