Seen a shooting star tonight
And I thought of you.
You were trying to break into another world
A world I never knew.
I always kind of wondered
If you ever made it through.
Seen a shooting star tonight
And I thought of you.

Seen a shooting star tonight
And I thought of me.
If I was still the same
If I ever became what you wanted me to be
Did I miss the mark or
Over-step the line
That only you could see?
Seen a shooting star tonight
And I thought of me.

Listen to the engine, listen to the bell
As the last fire truck from hell
Goes rolling by, all good people are praying,
It's the last temptation
The last account
The last time you might hear the sermon on the mount,
The last radio is playing.

Seen a shooting star tonight
Slip Away.
Tomorrow will be another day.
Guess it's too late to say the things to you
That you needed to hear me say.
Seen a shooting star tonight
Slip away.

Arlina would be so proud of you. She passed with the comfort of knowing that you would handle everything with the beauty, grace and dignity as she knew you would. I stand in awe to watch as you put your own unimaginable pain aside, so you can gently comfort and care for her parents. How you have opened your home to countless people each night, when you so desperately need your own time to grieve. I can see with absolute clarity, the reasons why I, for my entire life have looked up to you. My children look at you as an example of the kind of person they should strive to be, and I thank you for that. I love you.

Deep blessings to you both.

If it's any consolation...

From what I read, you said plenty.

Enough that you deserve a day off, with guest blogger Robert Zimmerman.

Have a good holiday, Mike*, even if the 'blessings' list is not all you hoped for this year.

* ...if I may call you 'Mike.' You may call me 'Mr. Bunay.' :oD

What Arlina needed to hear you say...

I'm pretty sure you said all _she_ needed to hear you say
Just keep talking til _you've_ said all _you_ need to say.

I love Bob Dylan.

Thinking of you! Thought of driving up to Sacto on Sunday...but didn't think my car would make it.
