Well we ought to talk via email or something abou tmust see sites and places to eat/stay etc.

Of course it would be lovely if you'd like to stop in and meet our little gang here- the boys are ach having their best friend over and the whole bunch of them are good kids- we always have room and the italian in me would absolutely love to cook a good meal for or even with you!
If your plans are to have a more solitary sabattical I certainly understand and I won't be hurt in the least but let me give you the names of a couple of places to see.

Where is "bodie" ? To me, it's the Bodie Island Lighthouse in the Outer Banks fo North Carolina.

Bodie is an abandoned mining town on the east side of the Sierra Nevada mountains. It is now a state park, so very well preserved.

It looks like a place with a lot of energy. I'm sure life there was quite challenging.... even for the people who were categorized as rich.

"Arrested decay" is such a ponderous couple of words. My brother bought a townhouse is southeast Atlanta many years ago and he was called an "Urban Pioneer." I thought that was pretty odd.
