no, only my observation.

Manzanar was a camp where my government inprisoned japanese-americans during the second word war.

I visited the ruins yesterday and felt it to be an intensely spiritual place.

Wow ... the picture is powerful enough.. can't imagine the actual feeling of BEING there.

How tall is the monument? .. I can't tell what is at the base of it ... is that a person sitting down?

it's about 10 feet tall. I think that thing at the base is a weed.

Isn't it past your bedtime?

10 feet? Well, it looks more like it's 100 feet tall ... a weed at the base... how boring is that?

I'm up late .. can't sleep.

Merci beaucoup!

We're going to the fireworks later. I just hope the 'skeeters don't eat us alive. Are you coming to Canada soon?

I'm thinking I'll be in Canada about the third week of july, but it is still hazy, because I haven;t found a suitable person to keep an eye on my cats yet.

You stole my comment:

Ooh, mountains!

the mountains loom large over the whole place--I'll post some more pictues later that show that.

It was the pictures and words that you posted that put it in my mind to go. I'm glad I did.
