is where i am now, working at a shelter of 600 people and sleeping on the floor of an office in a methodist church. it is hot and humid. i am tired. there are unbelievable stories here. in spite of what you may see on tv, the good people far outnumber the bad. bye for now.

You're such an inspiration, and you're such an angel for what you are doing.

Be well and be safe.

Thank you for the good you are doing.
I wish I could be by your side, but know that at least my thoughts are.

Another hurricane possibly this week?

My husband, who's heavily into weather, says there's some indication New Orleans may get hit again... Late this week? Have you heard anything about this?

None of the three cyclones out there now are aimed that way, they'd have to shift quite a lot to hit NO:

Of course, things do shift. But currently, there's nothing aimed that way.

I have never doubted the good outnumber the bad, but the bad do seem to get better press coverage. : (

I attend a Methodist church in Beltsville, MD. A special collection was taken up on Sunday to send to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), which is coordinating the Church's response to Katrina. So, I had to smile when I read that you are staying at a Methodist church. :-)

I have read your journal off and on for about a year now. This is the first time i've commented. My home was in New Orleans. There is nothing left. I have no home, barely any clothes, and no job, and i am one of the lucky ones. Thankyou for taking such a big part in making the people less fortunate then me more comfortable. They are my neighbors, friends, and family and I could never thank you enough.
