oooooooo, nice. I am so keen on Saints and icons and I'm basically Presbyterian. Go figure. St Francis is high on my Saints list. There is something unworldly about them. If you ever get to Tucson, try San Xavier del Bac.
My grandfather, who was not religious at all had a fascination with St. Francis. He had a big stone statue in his garden, and would often sit with a canvas and paint it. That's where I became acquainted with Francis, way before I became Catholic.
Now that statue is in my garden. One of these days it will make it to the pic of the day.
This was a case of it being 11 pm, and still not having a picture to post. I had a candle burning in the little alcove where this statue sits, and as I walked by it, I saw my picture.
