Are you reading "the cloister walk"? Cuz it don't look like it says that on the front of your book... but then again, I'm near-sighted...

I am, but it is an old copy, and probably difficult to see for someone with presbyopia.

those were from my grandma's house--they have been around forever, and just seem to be indestructible.

it was nice, once I finished taking pictures of it and could actually experience it.

she is such a good writer! i've read parts of that book, if not the whole thing.

those are beautiful bedclothes! is that a down comforter?

the book is amazing--i had gone into the used bookstore to find another book for a friend--they didn't have it, but I saw this and picked it up, because it was on an old old "to read" list.

I have been taking my time with the book. it is one of those where a few pages can produce so much food for thought. this was the book i was meant to pick up.

it is a down comforter, and it is so comfortable! it is the reason I long for cold winter nights!

I am envisioning you starting the timer, then frantically jumping in to bed and trying to get settled for the picture. ;-)

That's exactly what I was going to say. Diving onto the bed and trying to look all calm and relaxed... heheheh :-)

composing onesself in under 10 seconds is an art.

haha--that is exactly how it went! I took dozens of shots before I got one I was happy with, and the whole time I kept thinking:

"all I want to do is crawl into bed with a good book and a cup of tea."

Thanks for the inspiration--after seeing this last night, I turned off the tube, fixed a cup of tea, and read a bit of Fire Within. Tonight I think I'll turn to Tristram Shandy.

Yes, an excellent book.

I read it two years ago, during a hard time, and was Much Moved by the comparison of writers with Jeremiah....

yes--she really seems to have captured the essence of Jeremiah.

I like the way the book surprises me--she takes some unexpected turns.
