The opening act is a guy named Jessie Malin, and I thought he was mediocre. If I lived nearby, I'd spend the time resting up for a long set of Ryan Adams! Unless, of course he gets too drunk to go on.
Synchronicity: my wife has asked for the "Jacksonville City Nights" cd for her birthday this weekend -- having never heard it, but only on the basis of it being (supposedly) about Jacksonville, NC where she spent several years as a kid trying to grow up on a Marine base.
It's just like this, except without my reflection. haha!
It is a good album--all three of the ones he put out last year are excellent. but my persona favorite is the last one he did--29. Many of his songs have reference to the Carolinas.
Duhdeeduhduhduh... Okay. I am out of touch. I listened to a few cuts from Ryan Adan's CD and it didn't get me. Should I try again? Tell me more about the concert and particular songs.
Not everyone likes him--most of the peole I have played him for really didn't get into it. If you did want to listen to more though, try the album "Heartbreaker"--it's probably the clostest he's come to mainstream.
Let me see if I can find it again--it is one of those places where the content kind of comes and goes. If I can find the link I'll pass it on. If I can't I can burn you a copy if you like.
