april 30--spoons
Apr. 30th, 2006 08:47 am
The department head of the photography department had been sick. It turns out he had cancer, and he died on April 11.
He was my teacher's teacher, and kind of a mentor to him. In class last week, our teacher gave a slide show of some of Andy's work. One of the pictures that stood out to me was a very simple still-life of two spoons. I don't know what it was about that picture, but I have been thinking about it all week.
And so this is in homage to a guy I never met, the photography teacher I never had.

Date: 2006-05-03 05:18 am (UTC)I have a Nikon F3 that I use for most of my film stuff. It's the first Nikon I've ever had, and I really like it.
All of a sudden it seems like my whole life is becoming oriented towards photography and learning how to allow myself to be creative.
