One of the places I pass on my walk. I like this park and never seem to get bored of walking here. I pass by places they remind me of what happened. I listen to music and think about things.

--there's the tree we were sitting under when we decided to go to Italy. we actually did it! it was the same day the goose and i became enemies.

--here's the bench where I waited to meet someone. we met, and i knew i had made the right decision all those years ago.

--we sat on the grass and watched the fireworks right over there. it was the fourth of july.

--here is where the birthday cake sank. it's a blowout on a birthday cake, and i'm a birthday candle floating on the lake. where are you? it's getting late.

--it started raining as i walked this path, and i didn't care. i was listening to a song called the beauty of the rain, and it made no sense to me. i cried.

--the woman with the black dog used to sit here. i wonder what ever happened to her?

--i found a pink feather in this field. the feather was the only reminder that a circus had been there. it was as if i knew a secret.

--i stopped here to take a picture. "this will be my picture of the day", i thought to myself.

I don't know which I enjoy more-- the photograph, or the prose. Each line is like a small, meaningful stone tossed into the pool, whose ripples flow out across the world.

Thanks again for the use of your lattice and rose photograph, BTW-- I loved using it in my contemporary sermon, and the congregation found it striking and poignant. It's been erased from all relevant computers now. :)

WOW, you are kind! That will be a treasure in my church office, assuming that Staff-Parish Relations Committee will have me.

I did email my address in response to your earlier email with the file of the picture-- I'll try again.

the bridge goes to a little island where they have a strauss dance thing every summer. the rest of the year it is home to the ducks.

Beautiful. Thought provoking. Wonderful.... as always.

By the way, I did notice your user pic, and the lack of goatee. You have displayed a couple of clean-shaven pics lately, eh?</font?
