That's not being a dork! Say, have you ever read a book of little essays by Michael Kimmelman, called "The Accidental Masterpiece: On the Art of Life and Vice Versa"? Little essays on artists and photographers and collectors of lightbulbs. People who've insisted on seeing the beauty in everyday things. I think you'd like it. :)
Mostly Wildflower and California poppy, but to a lesser extent, to fill in gaps, Forget-me-not and Desert rose. I don't collect hard, they're expensive, I just pick them up when they come to me at reasonable prices, and use them as fillers in an ordinary white full table set.
