10:20 am--I have a bunch of gerber daisies, and have been taking lots and lots of pictures of them over the past few days. This morning the table was so free of clutter, it just seemed like a good place to make a shot. It was going to be my picture of the day, and then I had the idea to take a picture of how I set the shot up, and that became the picture of the day instead. That's how it goes sometimes.

The table is never this clean.

Can you recommend a good tri-pod? Sturdy but light weight?

My tripod is a manfrotti, I love it--it is so responsive to what I need from it. They have smaller, lighter weight ones--carbon fiber. They are a little pricey, but worth the money.

Is that extension "arm" that allows the camera to point straight down part of the tripod, or is it a separate attachment?

It is the center part of the tripod--the head comes off, and it slides out and can be used like I am doing here. It is quite versatile.
