...I said a few weeks ago, over lunch, about the fountain planters I had started a while back. Malida didn't believe me. I wasn't sure I believed me either. There is a reason my LJ is titled, "The Diary of Mr. Tomorrow".

Anyway, the weather forecast for yesterday said it was going to be about 10 degrees cooler than the previous 104 degree day, so I seized the opportunity. I got up early, went to the farmers market and got a few things, then headed to the Home Depot to get the stuff I needed to finish.

Malida was kind of surprised when I got home with a Honda full of pavers. So surprised that she helped me haul them to the back yard. I knew what I wanted to do, and it came together pretty quickly. I had just enough stones to finish it. Boom!

fountain finished

I am happy how it turned out. I will put some potted plants around the front, after we return from Thailand. I think I will put some sort of bird bath thing in there somewhere as well, so the birds and the squirrels have some water. I'm thinking I can set up a sprinkler next to it so that it replenishes the water. I also want to put some little lights along the fence. Tomorrow!

our little garden

Our little garden. We harvested all sorts of vegetables yesterday. I will have one of our friends come by while we are gone to pick whatever is growing, so it doesn't go to waste. We learned a lot about how to grow things this year, and will apply much of it next year. Now I am thinking about planting stuff in the fall. Not sure what. I said that last year too.

flowers

Some flowers on the vine that is growing on the arbor thing outside our window. Another aspect of the garden I am pleased about.

Tomorrow is my last day of work before I am off for a good long period of time. My boss came in today to show me the letter we got from the accrediting organization, letting us know we will receive our accreditation visit next spring. That means lots of work in the fall, but that's then. This is now.

Nice!

Just to warn you, that trumpet vine wants to eat your fence and your house before embarking on further world domination.

That looks fantastic! For the moment you get to be Mr. Today. I'm envious: I almost never get anything done that looks so nice.

It's funny that you can't enjoy your day's effort but have to be all like But Wait There's More! so you are seeing the imaginary patio of tomorrow instead of the real one that's sitting right there and looking pretty good as it is. Take a moment and be proud!
