My morning with beans
Aug. 14th, 2003 09:48 amI got up early this morning--5:45 am. It's not really early for a work day, but it is for a day of skipping work. A day like today.
When I woke up I was planning to go to work. I did all the getting ready for work things--took a shower, ate breakfast, made coffee. It was the coffee that got me.
I grind beans to make coffee every morning. The beans come from Peets Coffee and Tea. As I have mentioned before, Peets' beans put Starbucks to shame. The beans glistened as I poured them into the grinder. I wondered how they would look in the morning light that hits the kitchen counter at about 6:30. I poured some beans into a bowl, got the camera, and waited.
I ended up taking about 30 pictures of beans, zucchini, altoids, a pyramid and a cup that is part of the wedding china we never use. By the time I was done, it was after 7, and I had missed the opportunity to avoid morning traffic.
So here I am, a free day ahead of me. Whee!
